The position will be a statutory accounting specialist and will require significant training due to the unique aspects of accounting for insurance companies. Key Qualifications/Requirements Interest in accounting (accounting degree not mandatory as statutory accounting is completely different) Accounting or finance degree useful, but not necessary Strong Excel skills Knowledge of - or interest in - investments and investment reporting ( Finance degree not mandatory) Strong background in insurance investing, financial statement understanding and NAIC statutory accounting regulations. Strong work ethic and great communication skills for client interaction Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Statutory investment accounting for insurance companies Working with insurance companies on their investment accounting/reporting What You Can Expect World-class working environment Training on: the industry's top investment accounting system (iWorks system by FIS) statutory accounting principles state insurance regulations basic understanding of the Bloomberg system general understanding of how insurance accounting and investments impact the actuarial cash testing process specific training with unique insurance reservescomprehensive understanding of accounting for Insurance investments how investment decisions impact the financial statements of an insurance company.
