The Highlights Job Details: Full-time (note: this is not a temporary or contract position). This is not a traveling superintendent position. About the Company: Our Client builds sound commercial structures that typically range in construction costs between $2mm up to $10mm and is currently in growth mode due to its solid client/consultant relationships and well-earned reputation. Position Details We're seeking a committed and hardworking Commercial Superintendent with at least 5 years of ground-up and remodel experience working for a commercial general contractor. The Commercial Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete multiple projects on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest level of quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities and training. The Construction Superintendent will perform the following duties: Complete project scheduling and maintain weekly updates Enforce safety policy along with conducting weekly onsite toolbox meetings Utilize Procore to complete daily reports, monitor conversations, and take daily pictures Coordinate inspections Generate and complete punch lists Verify Subcontractor Change Order and validate labor/material projections Maintain ethical business practices in every aspect of your daily actions Interpret blueprints and coordinate between architectural, structural, and MEP designs to ensure they flow together and match Organize and conduct weekly onsite subcontractor meetings to discuss safety practices, current events, schedule, quality control, etc. Work with office staff and respond in a timely manner, including but not limited to emails Be available, punctual, and accountable for meetings, requests from staff, etc. Perform duties as assigned. Qualifications To be considered for this position you will possess the following skills, attributes, and abilities: At least 5 years of ground-up and remodel experience working for a commercial general contractor. OSHA Certified (30 hours preferred). Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one in 60 days. Experience in dealing with representatives of various city building and development departments. Ability to interpret blueprints and coordinate between architectural, structural, and MEP designs. Overall knowledge/understanding of horizontal and vertical construction (i.e., cut and fill sites, utilities, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing applications, etc. Ability to communicate clearly and assertively with owners, architects, consultants, etc. Problem solver with a proactive mentality and superior attention to detail. Disclosures No alcohol or drugs in the workplace Satisfactory background check and drug tests are a condition of hire. Behavioral and/or cognitive assessments are conducted prior to hire. Sponsorship for employment visa status is not available (e.g. H-1B visa status). Superintendents must have a valid Texas Driver’s License (If out of state, you have 60 days to obtain a valid Texas Driver’s License. Superintendents with residential or multi-family-only construction experience will not be considered.
