Additional Information About the Role Christian Hospital with BJC HealthCare is hiring a Part-Time Lab Associate III to work at Christian NW Health Care and Siteman North County Lab. Position Details: Day Shift: Mon-Fri; rotating Saturday NO Sundays or holidays Phlebotomy experience is preferred. The U.S. News adult methodology ranks clinical specialties and rates common care procedures and conditions. Christian was nationally ranked as "high performing" in the clinical specialty of geriatrics and in the following seven of 21 common procedures and conditions: heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, diabetes, COPD, pneumonia and stroke. High performing in a specialty means we were in the top 10% nationally of all evaluated hospitals for that specialty or procedure and condition. Northwest HealthCare , six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Performs a variety of pre analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned. Responsibilities Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG's, etc. Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate. Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens received by the lab--including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests. Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
