Description:
NORR is seeking a Designer, Sustainability to support our growing global Sustainability Team. This position will report directly to the Director, Sustainability, and it will independently support and monitor the execution of sustainable design services, programmes, and third-party certifications, across all locations and market sectors we serve. Our ideal candidate will bring a depth of knowledge regarding sustainable materials procurement and LCA analysis – using OneClick LCA – to support the decarbonization of our projects through measurable embodied carbon reductions, as well as internal initiatives, research, and marketing. This role may be remote or may be worked out of one of our Canadian (Calgary, Ottawa or Toronto) or US (Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Sacramento) offices. Duties and Responsibilities * Independently documents and coordinates compliance with leading certifications programmes, such as LEED, Green Globes, Fitwel, WELL, etc. * Independently documents and coordinates compliance with municipal, regional and federal sustainability and resiliency guidelines, as well as clients’ own bespoke requirements. * Independently able to administer “specialty services”, including charettes, daylight modeling, energy/LCCA modeling, and LCA modeling. * Works collaboratively to promote internal knowledge sharing and QA/QC so an increased percentage of our portfolio incorporates sustainability. * Works collaboratively to support NORR in meeting its corporate commitments (AIA2030, SE2050, etc.) and CSR. * Builds relationships with key internal stakeholders across all sectors, providing interdisciplinary subject matter expertise promoting environmental stewardship. Required Skills * Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in architecture, engineering, or a related field * Ability to independently manage sustainability programmes (LEED, Green Globes, Fitwel, WELL, etc.) and a willingness to earn/maintain credentialing * Knowledge of federal, regional, and municipal ordinances in our locations * Knowledge of various project delivery models at all stages * Be a self-starter, capable of working independently on multiple projects * Proficiency in One Click LCA, Revit, SketchUp, Cove.tool and MS Office * Excellent verbal, written and graphic skills Required Experience * 7-10 years working experience in architecture, engineering, or a related field * Demonstrable experience in multiple “specialty services”, listed above * Credentialing in LEED, Green Globes, Fitwel, WELL, etc.
