Electronic Maintenance Technician : BWX Technologies, Inc. : Barberton, Ohio RESPONSIBILITIES: :The Electronic Maintenance Technician will be assigned to the Maintenance Department and report to the Maintenance Lead Technician. :Works as a team member of a group of electronic technicians, mechanical technicians, reliability engineers, parts technicians, management, and other maintenance staff. :Leads and assists in the modification, repair, and improvement of existing electronic equipment and controls, and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems as required. :Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to electronic systems. :Determines part replacement needs and takes action to ensure the necessary repairs can be made in an efficient manner. :Participates and leads in the development, execution, and record keeping of various electronic equipment as it relates to the preventative maintenance of production and facilities equipment. :Performs troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and modification of various manufacturing and production equipment, including machine power, instrumentation, control systems, etc. :Performs machine positional accuracy testing using laser measurement equipment. Troubleshoots and corrects machine deficiencies to meet calibration requirements. :Develops systems and assists employees regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with electronic equipment and components. :Develops and maintains records related to electronic and electrical equipment. :Applies electronic theory, electrical theory, and related knowledge while working with the facilities and engineering groups on various projects. :Ensures local, state, and national electrical codes are followed and proper materials are used on equipment and projects for which they are responsible. :Reports potentially dangerous electronic/electrical equipment and takes steps to resolve the issue. :Performs other related duties as assigned. :This is a 2nd shift position with the following core hours, Mon:Fri (3:00pm:11:30pm). Additional details on schedule requirements will be covered. QUALIFICATIONS: :Technical or associate degree preferred. :6 years minimum experience is required. :Must be available for schedule overtime, including some weekends. :Experience working with production/manufacturing equipment is a plus. Including items such as: PLC's, VFD's, CNC programming, machine controls, feedback devices, scales, rotary encoders, etc. :Siemens machine controls experience is a plus. :Possesses knowledge and demonstrates competency applicable to National Electric Codes and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and recommendations.
