We are a growing law firm looking for an experienced legal assistant who can help busy attorneys and paralegals assist our estate and elder care planning clients. You will be responsible for managing correspondence, including answering client calls and client emails, arranging meetings, and ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. You will also assist with preparing legal documents and performing any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. Responsibilities:• Help with creating a variety of documents including proofreading documents when necessary.• Communicating with financial advisors and CPAs.• Gathering and organizing financial information.• Managing client files.• Process client billing properly with help from the accounting department. • Continue to remind the team about upcoming deadlines.• Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the team. Qualifications: • Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position• High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate’s degree is a plus• Must be able to type at least 50 WPM• Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs• 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment• Excellent attention to detail and proper grammar may be the most important attributes.
