The ideal candidate should hold an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, or a similar field. Prior experience in a law firm or industry and current admission to the USPTO are prerequisites. Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications for inventions in life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.Conduct comprehensive prior art searches and analyze patent and scientific literature.Collaborate closely with inventors, attorneys, and clients to develop effective patent protection strategies.Manage patent portfolios and provide support in patent litigation matters as necessary.Keep abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments. Requirements:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, or a related discipline.Previous experience in a law firm or industry setting.Admission to the USPTO.Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical inventions.Experience in biotech commercialization, such as university tech transfer, or industry commercialization/regulatory compliance is advantageous. Education:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, or a relevant field. Certifications:Admission to the USPTO. Skills:Exceptional academic credentials.Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in conducting thorough prior art searches and analyzing patent and scientific literature.Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with inventors, attorneys, and clients.In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends in biotech and life sciences.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
