Job Scope: The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for the warehouse and logistics operations to ensure that all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule. The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is a leader who works alongside a crew and will be responsible for helping to develop and support employee growth while achieving the goals of the operation. Accountable for personal safety, behavior, and performance. Participate in a full facility and equipment clean up as directed. Work Environment: Work is primarily performed indoors near operating equipment and loud noise such as forklift horns and loose particles may be present. Work performed in this job requires employees to wear bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses always. Duties and Responsibilities: The Warehouse &Logistics Manager has 24-hour, multiple shift accountability for the business results and capability of the warehouse operations. Coordinate communications within the Warehouse areas across all shifts and gives clear and accurate reports to the business leaders. Support and implement processes and system improvements to continually provide the lowest cost, highest quality, and on-time delivery initiatives. Understand and work in conjunction with production schedules and achieve goals and deadlines developing a detailed knowledge of the process flow of the plan. Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues, through communication with each operator, knowing shift production plans and awareness of area. Collaborate with production, schedulers, and warehouse operations for the purpose of ensuring the effective, efficient use of space, time, and other resources. Ensure completion and submission of paperwork (shipment confirmations, logs, inspections, purchase orders) in a timely manner. Oversees the verification process of physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock (accuracy of count data, shelf life, inventory rotation/FIFO, viability) and identifying and drive loss elimination. Execute regular review of processes, department performance, and results. Work closely with the Production Planner on the daily shipping responsibilities. Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations. Keep logs and records of shipments. Assist in Quarterly and End of Year Inventory. Verifying finished product inventory daily and making inventory corrections as needed. Investigate load shortages/delivery discrepancies and follow up with corrective action. Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse. Understand the hazards of cross contamination. Assist in all third-party audits to facilitate plant readiness and inspection process flow. Conduct daily warehouse inspections for cleanliness and food safety hazards. Maintain all pertinent records, reports and paperwork as needed. Provide proactive support/solutions as needed. Promote a team atmosphere, not an "us versus them" mentality. Actively participate with all functional company areas (Safety, Quality Control, Production, Food Safety, Maintenance, Human Resources, Administration, Sanitation, etc.) ensuring all members of the warehouse do the same. Proactive in solving problems and troubleshooting issues. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, and HR Manager, promptly enforce equitable disciplinary action as specified according to organizational policies and the Employee Handbook. Maintain timeclock and warehouse employee records promptly and accurately (Timecards, time off requests, accurate and up to date Communication Log entries, etc). Complete employee timecards for payroll promptly and accurately. Use Diamond mission and values as guideline to drive associate engagement. Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure targets are met or exceeded. Conduct one-on-one performance feedback and action planning for all direct reports. Ensure proper training of employees to ensure thorough and quality training is given whereas the employee is competent to perform said position/task. Develop and promote ongoing growth development through promoting development in personnel through onsite training (cross-training, etc). Ensure warehouse associate's activities to ensure that they are following all standard operating procedures for the department. Be readily available to assist employees with concerns or situations as they arise. Promote and enforce a safe working environment for all staff performing work in the warehouse. Be an employee champion who will maintain a strong and positive working relationship with all employees with the utmost integrity, confidentiality, and ethical values. Additional Job Functions: Assist in maintaining a positive team environment and good working relationship by maintaining a positive attitude toward all Diamond team members, vendors, and customers. Participate effectively in a team atmosphere by modeling and promoting conflict resolution, diversity, ethical practices, and organizational citizenship. Responsible for other duties as deemed necessary by Management. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be computer literate. Must be able to lift 50 pounds of product routinely and climb a ladder to maintenance equipment from a catwalk. Responsible for communicating production status to oncoming shift personnel. Must work in a safe, professional manner always. Must report any accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor immediately. Must be willing to/have availability to work any shift (day or night shift). Ability to work independently without immediate direction or oversight. Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and integrity. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively communicate in a professional manner. Excellent interpersonal skills (communication, listening, team player, cooperative, approachable). Education & Experience Recommendations: High School Diploma or GED required. Must have 5 years of Warehouse Management Experience.
