The ideal candidate will have experience working with public sector clients and possess strong legal research, writing, and client communication skills. Duties:Assist in representing public sector clients such as cities, counties, and special districtsDemonstrate knowledge of the Brown Act, Public Records Act, and Conflicts of InterestsPrepare discovery and pleadings for litigation or adversarial proceedings at state administrative agencies, such as the State Water Resources Control BoardConduct comprehensive legal research and analysis within specific timelinesDraft a variety of legal documents ranging from client memorandums to law and motion work in adversarial proceedingsManage preparation and responses to written discoveryInterface with clients, demonstrating professionalism and competence in environmental and/or water law matters Requirements:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school3+ years of experience in environmental and/or water law matters for public and/or private clientsExperience with public sector clients preferredStrong knowledge of the Brown Act, Public Records Act, and Conflicts of InterestsExcellent legal research and analysis skillsSuperior writing skills for various legal documentsAbility to handle and manage tasks with limited supervisionProficiency in client communication and conveying legal and strategic issues Education:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school Certifications:Relevant certifications in environmental law or water law are advantageous Skills:Strong legal research and analysis abilitiesExcellent writing skills for legal documentsProficiency in managing tasks with limited supervisionEffective communication and professionalism in client interactionsKnowledge of environmental regulations and administrative proceedings This California firm was founded in 1979 and focuses on employment, labor, construction, education, real estate, general business and business litigation, corporate, taxation, bankruptcy, and immigration.
