Job Overview: The Vice President, Procurement will be responsible for leading strategic procurement efforts the Macy's enterprise for all indirect procurement spend. This position encompasses all aspects of business, category, and supply base management and manages the development and execution of effective sourcing strategies. This role reports directly to the COO / CFO and has significant direct impact on the financial performance of the businesses through the delivery of savings and cash/working capital improvement. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: Develop Macy's procurement strategy and plans, including investment, resource and skill requirements. Lead negotiations of all third party agreements including high volume of complex technology, transportation, and all other categories with partnership from legal. Develop and implement complex competitive processes to deliver the best pricing , quality, delivery and risk management with the supply base. Develop strong partnerships with executive team and engage internal stakeholders in order to understand business objectives and desired outcomes. Create and manage of short, mid, and long-term goals and objectives. Maintain category and market insights including knowledge of key vendors. Develops benchmarks and metrics including a routine scorecard to set baseline standards and review for improvement opportunities. Coordinate and oversee company Procurement working with operational management to accomplish enterprise wide and business unit strategic directives. Deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity of all Indirect materials and services. Identify and develop new/current suppliers who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the business. Lead supplier development and strategic supply base management. Understand competitive trends in to ensure Macy's has right competitive supply solutions. Develop and drive a Procurement talent management processes including the development of talent pipelines for Procurement. Leverage and/or deploy best-in-class procurement tools and automation. Lead supplier diversity efforts within non-retail spend. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or equivalent experience. 10+ years of previous experience in Global Sourcing, Supply Chain or Procurement. Bring a strong leadership profile;comfortable leading change;highly effective at engaging, developing, and motivating a team. Communicate with clarity, conviction, and confidence across all levels, both up and down the organization. Able to understand and work in a large scale, complex matrix environment. A strong executive presence, well-developed presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Build trust through personal credibility and has a demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships with senior leaders across the organization. Lead and mentor a high-performing team. Strategic thinking with an ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiatives. Execution skills with persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem solving skills. Strong negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization. Previous leadership experience in a matrix environment. Ability to work in group setting and independently; ability to adjust to changing priorities. Problem solver and quick thinker who can connect the dots quicklyand recommend appropriate support as problems arise. Strong analytical and process skills with the ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize data to make sound business decisions. Must also be a creative, strategic thinker with strong listening skills. This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
