The successful candidate will assume a significant role in all aspects of a management-side labor and employment law practice.Job Overview:Substantial responsibility and extensive contact with clients, opposing counsel, and government agencies.Legal research and writing, drafting briefs, motions, and pleadings.Handling court appearances, witness interviews, and internal investigations.Propounding and responding to discovery drafting position statements for the EEOC and NLRB.Handling grievance arbitrations.Counseling clients on employment-related matters.Updating clients on new developments in the law.Drafting and revising human resources policies.Preparing employee handbooks.Duties:Conduct legal research and writing tasks.Draft briefs, motions, and pleadings.Handle court appearances, witness interviews, and internal investigations.Propound and respond to discovery.Draft position statements for the EEOC and NLRB.Handle grievance arbitrations.Counsel clients on employment-related matters.Update clients on new developments in the law.Draft and revise human resources policies.Prepare employee handbooks.Requirements:Juris Doctor degree.Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in both DC and Maryland or Virginia.1+ years of litigation experience, employment litigation experience is a plus.Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor degree.Bar admission in DC and either Maryland or Virginia.Skills:Legal research and writing.Litigation experience.Employment law knowledge.Communication skills.Analytical skills.Benefits:The firm offers comprehensive benefits, including:Annual firm-wide Attorney Retreat.CLE and bar admission expense reimbursement.Competitive annual bonus programs.401(k) plan.Affordable health, life, dental, and vision insurance.Flexible spending accounts.Teladoc for 24/7 access to a doctor.Employee assistance program.Back-up childcare program.Paid parental leave on-ramping program.
