Sr. Engineering Specialist This is a hybrid-remote position. Provides engineering subject matter expertise to the MAA and MA Program Office. In this role you will…. Participate in the pre- assessment coordination, MAA onsite, report development and Mission Assurance protection program related request for information. Must have familiarity with Mission Assurance/supporting infrastructure applicable policy, standards, and benchmarks. Maintain applicable security clearance requirement. Provide technical support to the General Facilities/Public Workings/Mission Assurance program. Experience Requirements: The Engineering Specialist must have broad experience in utilities systems (i.e. water, wastewater, electrical power, natural gas, and transportation fuels) as found on military installations or medium-sized communities, which includes facilities and equipment, operation and maintenance of electric power and other utility distribution stations, transmission lines, and distribution systems and equipment and technical issues. The Engineering Specialist must demonstrate knowledge of the following: Practical applications of engineering science and technology; Standard practices and recommended techniques to solve a variety of general engineering problems; Power controls, SCADA, transmission and distribution, energy monitoring and control systems, electrical power distribution systems, and alternative energy generation with emphasis on reliability and resiliency; General facilities and utilities engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of duties concerned with the wide range of military facilities (e.g. administrative buildings, tactical equipment shops, communications facilities, industrial plants, hospitals, control towers, and aircraft hangars); Engineering design requirements as it pertains to various utilities and distribution systems; and Experience with UFC building requirements and MILCON project design and review. Two (2) years or more experience in civil engineering and mission planning Two (2) years or more of experience executing higher headquarters DoN Utility Assessment and Marine Corps installation level MA assessments Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR two (2) years or more directly related to engineering, including relevant military experience. Security Clearance Requirements: Active SECRET security clearance with the ability to attain TS SCI level clearance. Other Requirements: Requires travel minimum 50% of the time May be required to move equipment/files weighing up to 50 pounds Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others Effective verbal and written communication skills This position is contingent on funding.
