The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview The Fire Safety Officer develops, coordinates and implements a comprehensive fire safety program for the Centre. The fire safety program includes but is not limited to a campus wide fire safety plan, fire safety regulation including fire policies and operational guidelines, oversight of construction and retrofit work affecting fire safety and fire safety orientation and training of site management and staff alike. The incumbent works with Centre FM staff and trades contractors to ensure site fire safety systems are fully functional and are maintained to regulatory standards for operability. The incumbent is responsible to work with Centre staff and management along with external customers and regulatory bodies within municipal and provincial governments to ensure continuous improvement of the Centre fire safety program. The Fire Safety Officer performs regular audits to ensure fire safety standards within the Centre are developed and maintained in accordance with the Manitoba Fire Code, Shared Health Fire Safety Policy / Guidelines and the Centre Fire Plan.
