The Quality Assurance/Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance to Safe Food for Canadian Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard requirements, and maintaining the facilities Preventive Control Plan (PCP). The role involves working closely with Operations and the Quality Assurance teams to ensure that regulatory and company food safety requirements are adhered to and maintained and ensuring that company and customer quality expectations are met. Here’s where you’ll be focusing: Develop and implement HACCP plans based on Codex Alimentarius Principles to support the facility’s PCP and meet regulatory requirements. Conduct risk backssments and hazard analyses to identify potential food safety hazards and implement corrective/preventive actions to address hazards. Ensure that CCPs are being monitored and documented per the facility’s HACCP plans and that corrective actions are being appropriately implement/documented when deviations in established CCP critical limits are identified. .
