INTRO Location: Macassa Mine, Kirkland Lake, ON Rotation: 7/7 Schedule Contract Length: 12 to 18 months This role is not a Camp Based opportunity. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Based at the Macassa Mine Site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor (Contract) to join our Engineering team for a year. The Macassa Mine is a high-grade gold producer, with grade improving at depth, and a key valuation driver for Agnico Eagle. Located in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the Macassa Mine remains one of the highest gold grade mines in the world. Macassa commenced operations in 2002, and with the discovery of the South Mine Complex has been able to increase its level of production significantly over the past five years. The mine is located in an area with well-developed infrastructure, including a provincial highway, a railway system and a private airport. High-grade ore is processed at the Macassa Mill, which currently has available capacity and is located in close proximity to the mine. The Surveyor (contract) is responsible for marking up development lines, doing development pick-ups, long-hole drill ring mark-ups, CMS surveys, drill hole gyro tests, updating survey drawing, issuing survey plans and doing month end calculations. RESPONSIBILITIES Your responsibilities will include: Survey control points advanced, data downloaded and entered into Deswik or other related programs Update all Deswik level plans on an as needed basis, Provide reference tools for the mine department to operate effectively/accurately, Issue development-heading updates, Survey of production hole’s toes and collars and perform gyro tests to support drill and blast design Survey all diamond drill holes, service holes, others as requested Cavity monitor surveys of all stopes, raises, etc. Provide survey support to operations in both underground and surface locations Track and report monthly advance of mine development and rehabilitation Ore and concentrate stockpile.
