Acorn by Synergie is searching for a Shift Electrician to join our client, part of a large group based in Hartlepool, County Durham. Reporting to the Shift Engineer, the purpose of the role is provide first line expertise to the manufacturing areas as part of a small, multi: disciplined engineering team. Key duties will include: Assist the engineering team in carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance Continuously maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards, ensure safe working procedures are followed Provide first line technical expertise and knowledge to identify and rectify faults to minimise plant downtime Suggesting and implementing improvements to process control systems through collaboratively working with relevant peers Possess a high quality of work, ensuring any deficiencies found are repaired expediently and are robust enough to prevent recurrence This position will operate on shift pattern working 12 hour Days and Nights, 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off. Having have completed an electrical apprenticeship or possessing a recognised electrical maintenance qualification (NVQ or similar). The successful candidate will ideally have a background in heavy engineering manufacturing. Experience within the following is also required: Industrial/domestic wiring Overhead Cranes and associated safety systems PLCs in the main Siemens and Allen Bradley including HMIs Expertise with AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems of various configurations Variable speed motor control with inverters and converters, including speed feedback devices Interpret electrical drawings Awareness of Safety related control systems Acorn by Synergie acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
