JOB SUMMARY Outlines and implements safety and training programs to educate and inform the workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational, and natural progression materials including videos, guides, and posters. Track and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations. Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Leads and manages the delivery of safety and technical training programs. Helps determine safety and training objectives by identifying skill or knowledge gaps. Oversee and develop training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises and training evaluations. Monitors results of training and collects feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Analyzes safety and training needs and help develop new safety and training programs and/or modify and improve existing programs. Prioritize objectives and action items from audits/inspections and implement operational safety and training strategies to achieve company initiatives. Coach instructors/supervisors/managers in techniques and skills or safety and training and communicating with all employees. Be the technical safety and training SME. Oversees the development, maintenance, execution and tracking of all safety and training activities, ensuring Litehouse's adherence to safety and training compliance. Be an enthusiastic champion of all safety and training initiatives. Oversees the record keeping for all training auditing and completes all of the safety and environmental reporting requirements. Communicate, and provide guidance on all existing and planned to implement safety and training processes. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from four-year college/university or 3 to 5 years of related experience in safety regulations, auditing, and creating safety process/policies and training in a manufacturing environment. A minimum of three years of experience mentoring safety and OJT training in a multi-site environment. Experience implementing a behavioral based safety program. Previous experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS) KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Active OSHA 30 and other Safety certifications preferred. Experience in presenting and training in large groups, one-on-one, vendors and physicians. Behavioral Based Safety experience is preferred Project management experience Change management experience Ability to be self-motived and execute company goals Proven mentorship capabilities Demonstrated creation of safety and training, programs, and systems Demonstrated ability in writing safety and training policies and procedures Impeccable judgement and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting Demonstrated ability to remain calm in high stress situations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent presentation skills Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills High-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Excellent knowledge of OSHA standards and federal safety legislation. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Manufacturing Plant Environment 5% travel Office environment FOOD AND WORKPLACE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies. Regularly complete behavior-based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner. All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of the SQF Code. All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
